Layers
Layers let you stack image elements on top of each other. They let you paint objects that overlap without altering work you've already done. Plus you can move, edit, recolor and delete elements with total creative freedom.
Interface
Layers offer unparalleled freedom to experiment. Work above or behind existing elements of your painting, and move, duplicate, edit and blend the results independently of other layers.
See sectionCreate
Fine control over every part of your image is simple when each element exists on a separate layer.
See sectionOrganize
Move, Lock, Duplicate and Delete layers. A touch or swipe puts all the most commonly-used layer controls at your fingertips.
See sectionOptions
Rename, Select, Copy, Fill and Clear. Master powerful Alpha, Mask, Reference and Merge functions through the Layer Options menu.
See sectionBlend Modes
By default, content on a layer is opaque and covers up the contents of layers underneath it. But there are others ways the objects and colors on two layers can interact and blend. Blend Modes open up all kinds of interesting visual possibilities.
See sectionMask
Procreate offers various ways to modify certain areas of content without affecting others. This gives you the freedom to work fast and experiment with confidence.
See sectionShare
With options to share your layers as bulk-exported individual images, multi-page PDF documents, and simple looping animations, your artworks are more versatile than ever before.
